The internet is a vast space that runs on servers set up all over the world, and some of these servers house the website known as Metacritic. Metacritic is a site that rates not only video games, but almost every piece of entertainment out there. Even the obscure like 30 Impossible Levels has their own section. Sure, that section is barren but it still exists.
I chose to write about Metacritic not because I’m a fan of their work, but because they’re easy to link to for my past posts so this is kind of a thank you to them. So, if anyone at Metacritic ever finds this blog, thanks. You guys do good work. In truth though, I don’t think I ever visited the Metacritic website before starting this blog because I don’t really value other people’s opinions on the entertainment I consume. Like I said before, the only reason I did was because it was an easy website to link to.
But all that aside, I reiterate that Metacritic does great work. They don’t just review stuff themselves, they also take reviews from fans and haters alike. If you have something to say about a game or movie, you can say it (as long as it doesn’t violate their Terms of Service). And although I don’t particularly value their service, plenty of other people do! And that’s why I chose to write about Metacritic today.
