Credits Sequence

Well dear readers (also known as Ash), we’re at the end of the semester and therefore then end of my blog. So like a video game, I shall credit everyone responsible for helping me along the way.

Short list but I guess I’m just that independent. I do have some questions I’m required to answer before I can close WordPress and delete it from my bookmarked websites.

What would you want to improve or include within your site?

I would have liked to included my videos at the end of each post but it turns out you have to pay for that feature and I’m out here saving every last penny to fund my addiction. Which is video games if that hasn’t been made clear yet.

How could you have better promoted your content?

I could have better promoted my content by adding more hashtags I guess. Theoretically, I could have also posted flyers around town and rented a jumbo tron on a blimp but sadly I didn’t have the budget for either of those things.

What was your best experience of the semester-long project?

The best experience of my semester long project was the morning of February 14th where I stayed up until 5 AM filming stuff for a video just so I could write about it for my blog and release the post and video simultaneously. I still think it’s my best video.

In what ways could the experience benefit you in the future?

I guess I could use this whole blog thing to show people my true writing style and how passionate I can get about something like a stupid game where Mario gets profiled and arrested. If I can bring passion to that, I can bring passion to just about anything. Ask me about the life cycle of a caterpillar, I’ll brush up on that and get back to you in a few years. Oh but that’s not really answering the question but since I already wrote it, I’ll leave it. I could use the experience to write better blog posts for someone else. The likelihood is low but that’s what you get for using ‘could.’

Discuss how you might implement these tools professionally in the future, in a job or an entrepreneurial endeavor.

Oh thank goodness, you used the word ‘might’ for the last question. It’s equally exploitable. I might use WordPress again and attempt to use it to gain traction for my videos. So, that could go over well.

Which was your most popular week, and how many views and visitors did you get that week?

I feel like you guys are really overestimating how many people use WordPress and click on unknown blogs. I’ll check for the points those, prepare for disappointment (I’m secretly hoping for high numbers).

Okay seriously, who uses WordPress? I got 42 views and 94 visitors on the week of February 3rd. Did you guys do something? Like send out our blog to all your colleagues to pump up our rookie numbers?

Which was your most popular post of the semester? How many views did it get? Why do you think it was the most popular?

My most popular post was my introduction post and I don’t know why it was my most popular! It got 60 views. 60 people bothered to click on it and I don’t know why. I still suspect you guys did something. I had no twitter followers at the time so next to nobody saw the promotion.

In all of the Site Stats data, was anything surprising to you?

Have I not expressed myself well enough? I. DON’T. KNOW. WHY. I. GOT VIEWS. That’s surprising.

Do you have any Twitter, Facebook or other social media stats you want to share?

I’m glad you asked! I don’t know if you’ve been informed but I have a YouTube channel you should check out. I post one whole video every month. I also have a twitter I use for not this class. See, I’m trying to make the whole 18bluecat thing a brand… It’s uh… not going so well.

I enjoyed the skills I learned in this class Ash, it was definitely my favorite this semester. This has been Rated B, I hope you enjoyed.
